Time Flies!

Well the last month or so has flown by and I've slightly neglected my blog. I have been busy. There's been snow and fun and Valentine's Day, as well as lots of other things in between.

Here's a sample of what I've been working on (there is some colour too so keep scrolling)!

From my sketchbook a couple of lovebirds

There were a lot of chilly illustrators in January

A Daily Doodle for the letter P (check out @Daily__Doodle over on Twitter)

From my sketchbook - I can't imagine who this is (Chickpea)

For #nonidentikit over on Twitter started by Sarah McIntyre (@Jabberworks)

I have been experimenting a bit more with the way I paint and really liked this lady who is part of a bigger picture

I drew a lot of old men for the same picture

And plenty pugs too

Number 50 was my favourite

Here's a photo (taken on my dodgy phone camera) of the finished piece. I still have to scan this and put it on my website

There was 24hr comic day on the 1st Feb which I managed the first 3 hours and then got way too busy!

This little fellow turned up in my sketchbook

As did a party slug

And some non-party newts

A whole cacophony of cats

Mini Monsters

There may have been new pens and more monsters

Finally there was Valentine's Day. I painted a picture for my husband. Here's a bit of the detail

The finished piece

Thanks for taking time to read my blog and well done for making it all the way down here!

Back to School

I feel very lucky as I've had a lovely time with family and friends over the Christmas holidays. I hope you had fun too.

Chickpea has gone back to school today and that means getting back into a routine again. Well, some kind of routine - this morning she woke us up by reading Cakes In Space (by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre) via torchlight.

One of the things Chickpea enjoyed a lot over Christmas was cracker jokes. We have heard them endlessly. However this morning she had a new audience and when I left her at school she was telling one of her favourites and laughing like a hyena.

I'll leave you with that joke:

What did the policeman say to his tummy?

Thanks for reading my blog,

Teri

The start of Advent 2014

This week I have been mainly getting over a rather nasty bout of the flu. Chickpea did ask me what a good flu was.

I've also managed to do an entire 7 days of the #illo_advent challenge over on Twitter. Here's a round up so far from my sketchbook.

Day 1: Wheee!

Day 2: watch where you're going with that!

Day 3: Star of wonder, star of light!

Day 4: Party Season

Day 5: Spending time with a friend.

Day 6: Love snow

Day 7:While shepherds washed their socks...
I cannot help but want to sing the wrong words to this carol every time I hear it!

I shall leave you with that in your head...

While shepherds washed their socks by night,
All seated round the tub,
The angel of the Lord came down ,
And gave them all a scrub!

Thanks for stopping by!

Books and Crocodiles

Another busy week! My postcards and Christmas cards are selling which I'm pleased with.

I've been busy with my sketchbook the last week. Here's a few things that you might find in there:

I managed a couple of sketches for @Daily__Doodle

My Pet Crocodile:
This piece is turning into a larger, full colour illustration. Thanks for all the likes and comments on Facebook and Twitter.

My Pet Octopus:
The hazards of owning a pet octopus!

A couple of character sketches from the pet crocodile piece:

I've also been sketching some elements for a book I'm working on:

For those who asked - see I really was drawing broccoli!

Then there's these little monsters. They seem to keep cropping up in my sketchbook a lot. I will have to think of something to do with them!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my blog.
